“Native Land Digital strives to create and foster conversations about the history of colonialism, Indigenous ways of knowing, and settler-Indigenous relations, through educational resources such as our map and Territory Acknowledgement Guide. We strive to go beyond old ways of talking about Indigenous people and to develop a platform where Indigenous communities can represent themselves and their histories on their own terms. In doing so, Native Land Digital creates spaces where non-Indigenous people can be invited and challenged to learn more about the lands they inhabit, the history of those lands, and how to actively be part of a better future going forward together.”

THE TREATY of GREENVILLE 1795

I’ve decided this will be an ever-building page of honoring Natives of Turtle Island by committing to understanding what we do not know, unlearning whitewashed histories, ways we can contribute to rematriating the land we are guests upon, and aligning ourselves deeper with our Native brothers and sisters together.

How do we become greater protectors of the Mother of Nature?

We’ll be exploring the Cession 11 Treaty of Greenville to see where that leads us.

“There is widespread anger and sadness in First Nations communities. Sisters, wives, mothers, and daughters are gone from their families without clear answers. There are families whose loved ones are missing—babies growing up without mothers, mothers without daughters, and grandmothers without granddaughters. For Native Americans, this adds one more layer of trauma upon existing wounds that cannot heal. Communities are pleading for justice.”
