This piece came out from thinking of all the strength and endurance I’ve gained in the small, large soft and hard living in Kentucky over the years. It is mostly the hard I believe I will take with me when I travel out west to protect the precious that, much like the small joys of the world that keep me going, will keep me going when I most need them on the road.
